The government has outlined a clear roadmap, with detailed discussions in Parliament scheduled to begin from April 16, aiming for the implementation of the Women’s Empowerment Act by 2029. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described it as a step that will put women’s empowerment on “auto mode,” while National Commission for Women chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar termed it a structural reform that fulfills long-standing aspirations for greater political representation.
